88 firebird car audio help

All but one of the speaker are shot and now the head unit won't turn on. It displays the time but it's wrong and I can't change it plus it says at 11:05, I figured it was just a fuse but their all good. I have decided to get a new head unit and speakers, but I don't know anything about car audio. I'm thinking off get a double din touch stereo, does any one know of a good brand that will fit easily with little to no modifications. I won't be installing this my self but I want to make sure I get a good stereo that looks good with out destroy the classic look of my 88. I would like it to have Bluetooth audio and phone capabilities, the interior lighting is an orangeish red color and I would like it to display something close to that. I don't have a very big budget and are hoping to spend $200 at most on the head unit. It would be nice if it had navigation and a harddrive to save music but not a necessity. I dont want any of the single din screens the flip up and cover the climate controls. Also which company make good speakers that are affordable, I believe my car has four speakers, two in back and two in the dash. At most I would like to spend on the speakers is $120. I understand that the double din stereo will need a custom bezel I have found one and that will be no problem. Any help is much appreciated. So in summary I'm looking for a double din touch car stereo with Bluetooth this red or orange display coloring, and good speakers to go with it. For at the most $300

Great site to go to.
I'd say go with a quality single-din made by Kenwood or Pioneer: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/cat_i...3-players.html

Buy a 8/16/32gb flash-drive for music.

Pioneer, Kenwood, Alpine, Rockford Fosgate, Polk, and MB Quart have some okay speakers if you are on a budget and plan on powering them from your radio (50-75$ per set).

If you get a bad radio, you will get bad sound (Dual as an example), if you get bad speakers the sound will also be bad (Pyle for example).
Basically want to find a balance (don't spent 225$ on speakers and 75$ on a headunit).

Stay away from Dual, Sony, Kicker (for speakers), Pyle, and Boss if you want it to last longer then a year.

Should be 4x6 in the front and 6x9 in the back. You can get adapter plates (for like 10$) to use 6.5 speakers in the back (which is the ideal speaker really).

Can always find what you want on Sonic and compare to Amazon and see if they are cheaper.

Re: 88 firebird car audio help

i like clarion stuff, this one is double din, multi color, built in blue tooth. i have had pioneer and clarion units and neither has gone bad i just keep moving them to the next car, the exception being the pioneer i sold because i wanted new features not because anything was wrong with it. i like the clarion better for sound quality though. it has alot of the features that you need if you are building a multi-amp/multi speaker setups like i have.

not likely going to find really good speakers for 100 bucks, so you can do like he suggested and just get good 6.5 components in the sails or you can spend some more and get good replacements

these are what i have, in my firebird (without amp) but they sound much better amped. i have the 6x9s in my dd with 6.5 components in the front with 50w/ch and they sound a ton full-er. not much point in messing with that though in mine because the engine in my bird drowns out most of the sound anyway.

I went with polk also:
Amazon.com: Polk Audio DB461P 4-by-6-Inch Coaxial Plate-Style Speakers (Pair, Black): Car Electronics Amazon.com: Polk Audio DB461P 4-by-6-Inch Coaxial Plate-Style Speakers (Pair, Black): Car Electronics
Amazon.com: Polk Audio DB651 6.5-Inch Coaxial Speakers: Car Electronics Amazon.com: Polk Audio DB651 6.5-Inch Coaxial Speakers: Car Electronics
and then a
MB Quart ONX4.60 to power them

Paid maybe 150 total new.
E) honestly check your local Craigslist or LSN for headunits.
Can get some half decent ones for 25-75$ because they don't need them anymore.
Just be cautious
