What is ERS?
What is ERS?
In the junkyard the other day I found a dash tag on an '80s Firebird that said "ERS - Extended Range Sound System".
I'm guessing it was some stereo package option, but what did it consist of?
Just curious. I'm gonna put it just above my deck, I think it'll go well with my subs/amp combo

As long as you didnt get the base AM only radio, you got ERS. Sure that was a firebird you saw that on? I've only seen that on Camaros. Usually Firebirds had Performance Sound emblems which ment you had a mini sub instead of 6x9s.

Now that I think of it, yes it was a Camaro, because it was the same car that my friend took a seatbelt out of.
When I went to another yard yesterday, I did see the same tag in several other Camaros. So now I'll keep an eye out for that Performance Sound tag, to cover up the empty space I have on the new dash kit

The part number for that emblem is 10041405. I dont know if the dealer will still be able to get them in. Most cars didnt come with the emblem, so it will be harder to find in junk yards then the ERS emblem.

Thanks for the part number, Justin. I'll have to swing by the dealer for it... the new faceplate I got for the radio lets it fit snugly in the dash, and almost flush, so it's hardly ever skipping now, but there's a big empty space just above the radio. Gotta find something to put there...

Well, you should prolly call the dealer for a price first. No point driving out there if it has been discontinued. Seems that alot of the parts aren't available any more, which is a shame. Any pics of your car? I dont see any cars in the pics on your website

I'm gonna try posting this here image, but in my experience, it's not gonna work
In that case, just follow the link.
It's an old pic, the correct foglights are now in the car, and the hood ornament has since been removed due to incompatibility.

Your pic seems to work
Got a new hood ornament now?
If you dont already have one, you might want to get a performance suspension emblem too. Its a perfect match for the perf sound emblem. Its pn is 10041161.
