For anyone upgrading from a tape deck
I know a lot of people would want to put large priced CD decks in. And I wouldn't want to blame you you certainly get what you pay for! But I say a lower priced deck really can make a difference. For example, I just put in a Kenwood KDC-215S in my car, and I simply could not believe the difference in sound quality. It was a lot more clearer and sharper. Then again, anything is compared to an adapter for a discman. It seemed to give my speakers new life too. All for just $260 CDN (including wires and other stuff) Anyhow, that's just my 2 cents, and a little advice for anyone who will upgrade on a budget.
