Hi fellow third gen folks!

Well my 89 Formula 350 has been on the road since Jan and I can wait until summer! Couple of minor issues but one i want to fix ASAP.

My Radio, UX1, it was working great unti recently. It wont come on when powered The power antena does not go up either. The clock works fine.

Just so its known, I did solder in a 3.5MM stereo jack so I can play music off my smart phone. That worked great too

I am thinking that the jack I soldered in maybe the issue. Just wondering however if it could be something else. The fuses for both the radio and antenna are fine.

So I know the radio gets power but will not power on with the orange button. I would be greatful for any thoughts, etc. Thanks!

 

The power button switches are known to go bad. Remove the radio bottom and cassette, jumper the switch at the main power board. Radio should power up.

 

Thanks for the info. The button it self seems to work fine. But I will jump the connections to confirmif this is the issue. Can it be fixed/replaced?

I was not able to jump the power switch. However I moved the 2 leads and got it to power up couple of times So pretty safe to say its the switch. Please let me know if you have them thanks again!

 

You can also buy a NOS switch from http://www.corvetteradios.com/corvetteradios_020.htm if red88tagta doesn't have any.
