I have added a Pioneer AVh touch screen and 4 hertz audio speakers in stock locations . 6x9 in rear and 4x6 up front. With interior totally out it sounded pretty good all things considered. I have used hertz for a while now and these speakers in other setups and they really rock.


After carpet and interior back in the speakers are all highs and no mid bass. not expecting much but even at middle volume it has limited full range sound. I am using just the HU power which I have done before and should be enough to over drive and distort with some ok results. SO I am surprised how crappy it sounds. almost like a laptop speaker setup. The car is loud too so I know I have to crank it up over the muffler for now.

I removed the stock black baffling that was in the 6x9 location and that definitely helped. It blocked too much volume and I know the hertz use some serious volume and can generate great midbass tight even.

any tips to improve response, how should I set my HU? dynomat? trying to avoid an amp for now. i might just do a small tube in the rear later


Also the antenna situation is bugging me more. I am going to replace the stock fender unit and glass it over. SO I did not plug into the HU but I added a small marine antenna and routed it over the dash and up the A pillar. Reception is incredible weak. I tried every location and nothing helped only thing that helped was if I ran raw cable above the t tops.

any tips or ideas on what i can do to improve routing the antenna without mounting external unit? Is there a better wire kit maybe mine looks cheap.
