cd player installation kit for digital dash car

So I installed a cd player into my 88 gta w/digital dash. The installation kit is the normal gm kit for an f body. It doesn't sit far enough back to allow the trim to go back on. I can't modify the installation kit to work. What do you digital dash guys do/use?

use scosche 1516b

in camaros you have to heat and remold the air ducts behind the radio to make a single din fit, but other than that it sits nice and flush

I took care of the duct work. The installation kit itself doesn't sit far enough in. I might be able to cut the tabs off the kit and make my own brackets. Just wanted to see if there was a better kit. I will look at the kit you mentioned.

I have the digital dash in my 88 GTA and I installed a Alpine headunit. It will stick out about 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch. I had an earlier Alpine 20 years ago that had the adjustable mounting tabs that you could adjust the depth to make it flush; which was nicer/cleaner looking. It was a double DIN with the EQ.

Or, you can remove the little tab behind the radio for the stock radio and slide it back flush, but you'll have to mod the 2 side brackets to the new radio.

right, i meant with the scosche kit in the camaro you have to modify the ducting, if you are using the style Bob88GTA has no modification is necessary

since you have a Bird, and already modified the ducting, the Scosche kit should install very easily into your car, and make the unit flush without the bump out seen in Bob88GTA's pic

not sure if it will resolve the problem with the bezel not sitting flush or not, it is just my preferred kit in thirdgens and only cost $9
