My newest box design >>>>

Here's the pics from the install that I finished last night. It's a single 12" JL W0 powered by a Kicker Impulse 652xi. The sub is an 8 ohm sub, so the amp doesn't make any kind of power. That taken into account, this box hits pretty hard. With a good amp and a 4 ohm sub, I think this single 12 could approach mid to high 130s.

That looks sick!!!!!!!!!!! I like how well it fits in your hatch like it was made for it. I saw your picture of the old system setup but do you think that possibly that those 4 12"'s would be able to fit pyramided in the hatch well? Later

Man I like that.
How hard was it to make?
Do you think a 15 would fit well like that?
Does it still hit hard faced back, no port hole, and no where for the bass to exit?
If it still hits real well then I would like to know more about how you made it. It still leaves storage room and looks like it is factory the way it blends with the hump.

Jim,that is freaking SWEET! Would a box like that be able to house a 15" sub? What I mean is will a 15 " sub fit inside the well like that?
If so,what would it take for you to post the print of that box?

That's because it was.

A 15 won't fit. Look at how little space there is above and below the 12. If you look at the second picture, you'll see that the flush mount plate doesn't conform to the latch curve like most of my designs. I left it open so that the bass could get out. You can't tell in the pic, but I actually radiused the wood around that notch so that there would be more room all the way around for the sound to get out. I'm really not happy with the fit of the flush mount plate. I was missing the ballgame and I had a woodchip in my eye (that hurt like hell), so it was pretty rushed. It fit around the amps until I put the carpet on it, now it doesn't fit. He's happy as a clam with it though, so I'm not going to bother redoing it.

I'm not going to post the plans though. I don't even have a full set of plans. I just write down certain measurements, and I build the rest of the box around those measurements, so they wouldn't be of much use to anybody besides myself.

Thanks for the compliments though
