would it be possible to use both the high level inputs on my amp and the rca cables, but for different inputs. i would use the high levels obviously for the head unit, and the rca would be for an aux to my phone (i only will use one at a time). my amps manual says not to use both but they way i am interpreting it is not to use both inputs from the radio, but will it hurt anything if i dont use both at the same time. i do understand that this will eliminate my balance and eq settings in "aux mode".

 

It's possible...but you would have to be pretty handy at wiring relays. You definitely don't want to feed that amp inputs from both sources at once.

 

well i would just shut the radio off when i plug in my phone and could also wire in a switch for the radio if need be. i just wanted to make sure i wouldnt fry something just by having it hooked up

 

Why not just get a radio with aux...
