Check this out guys!!! Would this be cool or what?

I went over to JC Whitney's web site today and saw this: http://www.jcwhitney.com/item.jhtml;...JYG?ITEMID=802

I have T-tops on my Firebird now wouldn't this look so cool in my car? I was thinking of two places: 1) either between that plastic panel area that meets together w/ the 6x9's or along the T on the t-top where the dome light is at. Then at that time if I decided to place it there to reinstall the dome light in that design. Do you guys think that I would notice more imaging to the music or no?

I would say you would see less. You want the sound to seem like its coming from in front of you, plus you want the left and right channels so they are approx. the same distance away from you. This is so R and L sound reach your ears at the same time and volume. With that mounted above your head, it will not do this.

Just like the text says, and just like you see in the picture...that speaker housing might be a good choice for a pickup truck where there's hardly anyplace else to put speakers, or in an SUV where cargo space is important, or if you have some antique car where you don't want to cut holes.

You really do want the sound to come from in front, as much as you possibly can. Plus, for only $50, I'm sure the speakers in that housing are of very low quality. And if the backside of that housing doesn't make an absolutely perfect seal to the car's ceiling, you'll get no bass whatsoever.
