more ??? about subs in a convertible

for those of you with the standard camaro box for 2 12's faceing the lid, how bad does the lid rattle? i was thinking of maybe a box with the subs faceing forward torwards the front hitting like off the back seats? i don't wann take out the back seats either. i just don't want my car riding down the street with that crappy trunk lid rattleing noise. especially how good my 2 15's sound in my coupe. is there any suggestions? if i just dynamatted the whole trunk real good, and got the standard box as well, would that sound good? is there anything i could do?

Well, if rattling is your biggest problem, then yes, dynamat the hell out of the trunk.

When you think you're done, add another layer.

You might want to check out the hi-temp mastic from McMaster supply. The part number is # 9709T18. This stuff is essentially the exact same as Dynamat (it has even been rumored that this IS where dynamat get's some product, but that's probably just rumor). It works excellent and is rather inexpensive for large quantities.

Check it out.

which way would be the best way to position the subs in the trunk? the same way as a coupe at the lid? or what about a sub on each side faceing each other? or even facing down in the trunk? let me know what you think. thank you.

Make a box that can go either way and try it. That way you will know for sure which way you will like better. It all comes down to personal preferance.

Double layer your trunk w/ that Dynomat or other stuff and then when the box is built and thrown in there make sure that the box is a sealed design and also make sure that it is designed for the subs to fire downwards. It will slam the hell out of the trunk plus you have Dynomat below it to bounce off of.
