sub and amp compatibility

I almost finished making my box and decided to go with one 12" Kicker XPL (250-350 watts RMS @ 4 ohms). I need an i dea on an amp to get. I was thinking maybe the Kenwood KAC-729S which puts out 100 watts X 2 or 300 watts X 1 RMS. Would this be a good combination, would the amp hold up in the long run, would it make the sub thump???

Thanx

Dave

Either one of those amps should work fine. Make sure the box is the right size and i'll thump just fine.

Anyone know the difference between the Kenwood KAC-729S and the Kenwood KAC-829?
