What are the best 6x9's???
I have Infinitys at the moment and quite frankly think they are crap. I used to have Cerwin Vega's that had been custom installed which were about twice as good, but I blew one so had to replace.
I don't think they're Kappa's, they are the one down from that.
I don't really want to get a sub box, I just want the best possible sound from those rear speakers.
I have a kenwood 777 head unit and infinity's in the front.
Thanks for the help.

There is no 'best'. There are tons of quality brands, each with their own unique sound characteristics. You'll need to listen to speakers and make your own decisions.

I agree. There are alot of good speakers out there!
6X9's arn't too expensive, so your best bet is to go to a good audio store, and listen to all of the 6x9s. (make sure they don't use an amp for the demo too, they tend to do that without telling you)
After listening to evert 6x9 in the store,i chose the kenwood Excelon 6x9s. (99 model year) Several people in the audio store said it was a awesome choise, as most of them ran the same speakers in their cars. I think it won some award in 99'.
Anyway, thye cost me $199.00. not a bad price in my opinion.
problem is, i liked them so much, i bought a amp to run them within the first few days, and when it sounded even BETTER, i had to go buy a woofer, and a second amp!

I have a pair of the Pioneer TS-A series 3 way speakers in my 79 Z28 and absolutely love them. But the issue with speakers is that there is no "best" only what everyone prefers. I'd go to the local audio store as previously mentioned and just listen to what they have.
