speaker problems
speaker problems
There is something wrong with the factory speakers in my 91 bird. Sometimes they work fine, darn good as a matter of fact. Then again, sometimes the passenger side dash speaker starts crackling and then neither right side speaker will play. It's real spuratic. The speakers are in perfect condition. I geuss it's probably the wiring? Tell me what's wrong and how to fix it. It sucks because I've got a changer now but the speakers sound like crap.
Seeing that it is a 91, I am gussing that the speakers are not bad... So it is probibly the wiring, so here is what you do, get to the speakers and disconect the two speakers wires and tie new speaker wire to the ends of the old wires, then take your deck out and pull the old wires through draging the new wires (this saves time from having to feed wires through that can be a l3itch) Now connect the new wires to the speakers and then the deck where you took the old out... If you have extra $$$ around you should upgrade to a better grade speakers, since the GM ones are junk. Hope this helps.
