sorry, but i currently have most of my interior apart to re-wire the speakers and suc. My question is; is the hard, black sound deadening used in and around the body good for anything. I am working on dynamatting with dynamt extreem and was wondering if i sould pull this and lay dynamat instead. It is about 1/2cm thick, hard black and has about 1 cm of low quality matting beneath it like the kind used under cheap carpets....lemme know as soon as possible and if n e of u have had experiance with this...Thanx

That's also for heat insulation. Since your using the Extreme, you can go ahead and remove it, but I'd Dynomat over it, just for that much more deadening and insulation. The weight won't be that big of a deal, and since it's all under the carpet, it won't matter. Also, there would be more cushoning.
