All of my speakers and sub are running off of amps,the only thing running off of my deck are a pair of Kenwood 120 watt tweeters thru the front channel. Could I bridge the front and rear channels of the deck too give the tweeters more power without hurting my deck or tweets? My deck is a Pioneer DEH-77DH 45 watts x 4, 22 watts rms.

 

I don't think so. Never even heard of such an option. Besides, the pwr rating on those Kenwoods is most likley max....probably about 40 -50w rms. a high power deck could give you that level anyway

An amplifier has to be designed for bridging, otherwise you will damage it when bridged. A deck is not designed for it. Plus, tweeters don't need much power, so you would get no benefit from doing it.

when you bridge an amp and wire 4ohm speakers in paralel you are dropping the impedance and basicly cutting it in half.(2 ohm) an internal amplifier in a deck cannot be stable in that load. now if you insist on bridging that internal amp in your headunit, you can maybe wire them in series, but that will not give you a proper stereo seperation and will basicly give you a mono signal. hmm..well thinking about again...if you bridge your headunit in series using the rear right channel and front rear channel, and the same on the left channels, then that should be a safe set-up...
