Anyone put a sub in the rear fender?

either side, i'm talking under the plastics, what can fit? 10" or 12". I was thinking like a home made fiberglass deal, don't know how hard it is. didn't like my system taking up the trunk and so easy to just take out, like it was.

Never seen it, never heard of it, but I don't see why it can't be done. That is a good place for an amp or two though.

I am going to do this, either today or tomorrow.
I am going to put a pair of 12s, one on each side, they require .75 cubic feet of space, which shouldn't be a problem at all.
Later,
RS

What are you making the box out of? I read that article about fiberglass, I was thinking that would be nice, alot of work though. Post how it comes out.

ok, im customizing my car audio, so ive been considering where im going to put my subs and amp, i want them to have the option of being displayed, but i saw someone with the subs on top of the gas tank, but behind the sear, how much airspace is that? how much do you estimate for the fender box, what about the spare?

Tell me what else ya guys think

I'm doing the exact thing. I have my 12" solo and it only requires .66 cubes (.58 with the power I'm putting into it). I'm going to be using the drivers side for the sub and the spare tire area for my two amps (alpine v12 t757 and f407). Also making custom kicks upfront for my mb quart premiums and still am figuring the rear speakers. I have the 6.5" premium coax version and I was going to just put them in stock location but we'll see.

there are a few companies, I know Q-logic is one but they are expensive that make boxes that slide into the rear trunk well so that the subs fire rite up towards the back window, Mine is a custom made box but the same style and I really like it, it looks nice, and bounces the bass off the window into the rest of the car
