Drill where the gas tank is???

I was just wondering if I could drill into the top of where the gas tank is on our cars to mount a box and amp? Is there enough room to get a 3/4" long screw down there?

NO NO NO NO NO.

The gas tank is barely 1/2" under the metal. what i did was used metal brackets to go away from the gas tank area to drill in.

I have a friend who spot welded some brackets in place.
