msd causing a buzzing sound in my 6x9's....

well before when i had first installed my msd ignition i had a legacy amp in the back. well i rewired everything with all new cables and whatnot, and installed a rockford fosgate amp. with my old setup i had a low signal filtering sound that was rather annoying, and now i have this full out whack buzzing sound screaming from the 6x9's. i routed all my rca's, speaker wires and amp turn on (antenna) down the same harness down the middle of my car, and the power cable on the opposite side. the amp is very nice, but this buzzing sound is driving me nuts. should i reroute my amp turn on wire and run it next to my power wire? should i be wary of how close my wires are next to my amp? could my msd be causing this? thanks

All of your power wires (main power, turn on, and ground) should be in the same harness. The ground should be as short as possible. The fuse on the main power should be as close to the battery as possible. Signal wires and speaker wires should be in another harness. Usually I run the two harnesses down each door (on opposites sides of the car). The second source of noise is usually a ground "loop." The only way to eliminate this is to try to ground everything to one place. Otherwise, you could get a noise filter. Good luck!

well today i was working on my car and i noticed that when i turn the key to the on position my system sounds just fine. when i turn my car on however, is when the buzzing comes about. im pretty sure now its the msd, and from what i hear they make a part for my problem, but does anyone have the part number? how about if i just were to use a noise filter from like, say radio shack or something?

i can't help you on the part number, but i can say for certain that msd ignitions will cause a hell of a time w/ buzzing.... reason being is that your power/speaker wire is unshielded so they pick up quite a bit of frequency from the msd box and cause distortion. For the time being try keeping your msd box/cables as far away from your power/speaker cables as you can... and im sure you can just call MSD to get that part number

I just bought a 30 amp noise filter from radio shack. Install it as close to the MDS box as possible. Also try grounding your HU to a better location. Doing bothe of these helped my system.
