Hello, I was planning on buying some subs. I was going to buy this box with 2 15" subs, http://www.ryjocustoms.com/8292camarofirebird.html. The box subs need 1.25 space and the box is 2.2 space per chamber. Will these still pound. I am going to mate them with a power acoustik 2200 watt amp, 500 x 2 at 4 ohms. Also what sounds better, Ported or sealed.
Thanks
Jason

personal i think sealed has tighter bass, but ported has lower end bass. that set up would sound good, do they even make MTX 15" 8000's.

yeah they have the 15's. They are 250 a piece in crutchfield. I am really exited to get them. I am looking for low end bass so maybe I will go with the ported. I love low end. When the bass hits. I want it to pound. Thanks

If I may suggest something,, go w/ 12's instead of 15's. I think that they sound to sloppy. Just a suggestion.

i have a thunder 7000 (old version same specs) 12" sub i think the 12's do a good job in the low end. I have it in a 1.5 cu ft enclouser that sounds pretty loud. i would go with the 12

I guess what I am asking is what would sound better, hit harder, give me more bass. The mtx 8000 dual 12's or the 15's. Or should I get the L7's.

yo i would get 12"s instead of 15"s. 15"s will definately hit hard, but not much harder than 12"s. They will definately sound more distorted.. go with 12"s.. thats my opinion!

out,
