I got a new alarm,its a vampire 2020 3 channel.yeh i know its cheapy.it says it locks the doors and unlocks them but its not clear if i need a solonoid.it has a 3 wire harness with a plug on one end that goes to the brain and the other end it says to wire 1 pos constantly,1 to lock,and 1 to unlock.its not really a keyless entry but it is suppose to lock doors when key is turned on ,etc.also it says to hook a grey wire to "dome suprivision"do i just hook this to any courtesy light wire.thanks

first does your car have power doorlocks? if so and its a camaro then it has 3 wire positive type doors. the the lock or unlock door wire sees a 12v pulse then it will trigger the relays in the car to trip the door lock actuators. now find out if the the door trigger wires on the brain are negative or and how much amperage they can supply. if its not at lease 20 amps then your alarm does not have built in relays. see if there is a fuse on the lock and unlock wire. it should be 20-25 amps. if not then you will have to add two relays. one for lock and one for unlock. the lock wire is light blue or black and the unlock is the opisite of the other. it can be found in the driver kick panel. the dome light is white and it is a negative trigger. give more details of your alarm and car wire so i can be more specific.

 

chris,the wire for the doorlocks coming off the brain say they are negative-.My car does have power locks.the dome light wire coming from the brain doesnt say positive or neg.In the instructions it list things you might need a relay for and it doesnt say I need one for this feature.It does say I need a relay for starter diable,but im not going to use that.It sounds like you know what your talking about so if you say i need one I will get one.Also in the directions it shows the wires coming off of brain going to lock- and unlock-not to a relay.I assume the white/red wire for 2nd channel goes directly to my hatch switch?thanks for your help,if you need anymore info let me know.

if the door outputs say negative trigger then you will have to add a relay for lock and unlock. get a bosch 12v relay spdt.
pin 85=negative trigger unlock from alarm
pin 86=positive 12v
pin 30=output to door unlock wire its either black or light blue in the kick panel sometimes white.
pin 87 is 12v

relay for door lock connections is the same as above except pin 30 gets hooked up to the door lock wire in car which is either black or light blue in drivers kickpanel and pin 85 is the lock output from alarm

you can hook the negative dome light up directly to the white dome llight wire. it is the negative door trigger also.

chris,can I use the alarm without using the lock/unlock feature but everthing else.just not plug it into the brain?or will that cause alarm to go off.thanks

yes you can use alarm without hoocking up the locks. a bosch relay cost about $5 a piece

 

well ,everything seems to work right except the parking light flash.only one is flashing.maybe because i have it hooked to the wrong wire?its hooked to the blue wire at the front turn signal. thats flashing like it should.should it be hooked to the brown wire to make both flash?
