I love my thirdgens. But if there is one car I would trade one for, it would be the 1984 50th anniversary 300ZX. That car was way ahead of its time. One of the Biggest takeaways from the car was its "Body Sonic" Seat option. Which in turn are just a bunch of bass shakers attached to the seats. For those who do not know, bass shakers are basically just subs that make no noise. You only get the vibrations, the feeling. Here is what I did. I purchased (Per front seat) 1 Dayton Audio BST-1 bass shaker, and 4 Dayton Audio TT25-16 mini puck bass shakers. The BST-1 is mounted under the seat via zip ties/ the factory seat metal frame, and the pucks I put into the upper part of the seat. 3 in the back and one mounted towards the top of the seat in the front. The Backs I used some zip ties as netting to hold them in. In my first mock-up, they would tend to fall out. The front puck had no issues. I plan to find some type of metal support in the future to better support the 3 back pucks. But what I have done this far has not given me any problems. I have my amp wired through a bass **** so I can control the number of vibrations I get out of them. I am in the process of modding a factory UQ7 Gain switch to be used as the bass ****. I plan on doing the rear seats as well. The feeling is incredible. Especially with all my other speaker mods, my plan for a concert/surround sound experience is really coming together.
Anyways. I would Just like to name this. The first Firebird Body Sonic system.
