Woofer + MB Quart to a stock system ???

I am pretty much a newbie to car stereo and I really need your opinion:
I currently still have my stock speaker system inside and I also want to leave it that way. I changed the stock head unit to a Kennwood. Anyways, the sound is pretty sharp and there is almost no bass at all.
I know that it is hard getting bass in a convertible……but I was wondering if would just put a 15“ sub and a Amp inside it would that alone help me increasing the sound ?
I would build a kind of “soundboard” which would fit in the backseat area that would hold everything….and since I got a pair of new MB Quarts (unfortunatly not the right size for front or back) I was wondering if I could add them to this system. Would it decrease the quality of sound if I would hook up the Quarts to the stock system and the woofer ??

Thanks,
Alex

A sub will definately help.

Unless you are going to use an amp to power the MBQs, i wouldnt install them. The stock deck doesnt have enough power to make them sound good.
