GTA SWC with PAC adapter, android radio

Hello,

My first post on the forums. I searched through all the posts regarding the GTA steering wheel controls with an aftermarket radio and could not find anything with the same problem I have. I bought a double did Android radio and a PAC SWI-RC adapter module to enable using the original GTA steering wheel controls with the new radio. After testing several settings and wiring options (PAC has instructions for hundreds of different cars, but obviously no GTA) I got the adapter unit to work and the new Android can now be used with the original wheel controls. Perfect!!! Not... While everything works 100% with the key on accessory or just on, everything goes sour as soon as the engine is started. For example trying the volume up, I might need to push the button 20 times before any changes happen. Same with all the other buttons, only very intermittent functionality with the motor running. As soon as I shut off the engine, everything works perfect again. I tried reprogramming the adapter with the engine running and it goes through the programming cycle with no issues, but still, once the programming is done, nothing works. If I shut off the engine after programming the buttons, they don't work with the key on acc either if the programming was done with the engine running. Only if I program everything with the key on acc, does everything work perfectly until the engine is started. Also, the radio doesn't seem to be the problem as the PAC module has a red indicator light that comes on when a button on the wheel is pressed. It registers every push when the engine is off, but the light doesn't blink at all on most pushes with the engine running.

PAC customer support has been great, but they seem to be out of ideas as well. They thought that the first adapter was faulty, but the new replacement did not solve the issue either. It's almost like something is causing an interference in the data signal coming from the wheel to the radio when the engine runs. The old radio worked perfect every time with all the switches on the steering wheel, so I doubt the car is the problem. It's like the PAC adapter is overly sensitive to any fluctuation in the signal while the factory Delco doesn't seem to have any issues with the signal. Anybody seen anything like this before or did you manage to get your SWC buttons to work with some other adapter than the SWI-RC from PAC? I used the SWI-RC as there was an older post from 2013 on this forum where a member had successfully made his wheel controls to work with an aftermarket radio. Any ideas would be very welcome. Thanks!
