Just a Question...

I was wondering, you guys always are raggin on equipment you can get from best buy and stuff like that, and turn around and recommend MTX, when i can buy MTX subs and Amps for a super special buy at most Best Buy places...i know because thats what we was going to buy, 2 of my friends got the package where you get 2 12's and an amp for like $300 or something last year...

just wondering if its lame to get it from best buy, then why recommend it ?

The stereo equipment sold at best buy is usually concidered "entry level" for highier quality stereo equipment try a hi-fi buys or a specialist. Thunder 7000 are good subs.

I think most of us rag on the store and it's salespeople more than the products themselves. BB carries Pioneer, sony, clarion, rockford, Cerwin Vega, etc. It's possible to get good stuff from them. Just don't let them install it.

Places like Best Buy are geared for fools who have lots of money and dont now much if anything about what they are buying. To make it worse, they hire bona-fide amateurs to sell the stuff. (Hope nobody who reads this actually works there....just my opinion on past experience). However, they do carry good products. Do your research on price and quality and you can find some deals from them.
But for "real" high end audio....go to a custom audio shop

I got my Pioneer 4 way 6x9 speakers and my Sony changer from BB. Was cheaper then buying from Crutchfield. Everything else in my system came from car audio stores.

also stuff there is more expensive than it puts out. Cerwin is good, but not $179 per 10 good. hell i got my MTX 15's at a car audio place for $150 each. and there thunder 6000s so there not the top of the line but there still good. pioneer is good but over priced. and RF amps are good but over priced. if you have a discount, go to town. there was a guy on this board who got cerwin 12s for like $100 each, thats definetly worth it.

If you can get a good deal on equipment from Best Buy then I'd have no problem getting it from them.

That's a matter of personal opinion more than anything else. I think the Cerwin Vegas sound a lot better than the MTX, well worth the difference in price to me, if I had enough room for them. I also like Rockford amps. I like kicker better, but I think rockford is far from overpriced. Same for Pioneer. You get a good value with those products.
