whats the deal with all the, "Oh he got (Good Brand Name) from best buy, it sucks!"

like it matters where you buy equipment from, they dont have 2 like assembly lines, one for car audio dealer, and one for best buy...

wait...these amps are going to best buy, dont wire them as good

 

Most of it's a "mental" thing. But some companies give the low end to bigger companies like Best Buy for the introductory stuff, and sell the higher end stuff at stereo retail shops.

So mostly a "mental" thing IMHO.

 

I *cough* work at best buy, therefore I can vouch for the stuff we sell.. We sell no GOOD subs besides the cerwin vega's (but they HAVE to be in a HUGE ported box). We only sell VERY entry level rockford subs. The models we used to sell were the Punch's and the Punch XLC's, now we sell the HE's also (although my store does not sell the HE 2's).. What really bugs me, is that unlike circuit city, we can't order anything that we don't carry.. At least circuit city can order the higher end polk momo stuff and Kenwood decks that they don't have displays for..

As far as amps go, I have an 800a2 and I HAD a 360a2.. They are pretty efficient but I'm not all that impressed.. If I hadn't gotten them with my discount I would have definatly felt ripped off ($559 for an 800a2? Gimme a break!! I paid $300).. I don't even really consider the stuff that best buy sells as real rockford fosgate.. Our "component" set is the Fanatic P, the lowest end component set you can buy. Rockford Fantic Q's are incredible, but you can't get them or even hear them at best buy. Same goes with the power series amps and the HX2's, you can't even LOOK at PICTURES of them there.. And if you ask somebody that works there, they would probably tell you that it doesn't exist because they don't have it there...


So even though I work there, I still think that you are way better off going to a REAL car stereo store... Don't even get me STARTED on the installation team! (Can you say, drill bit through air conditioner compressor?)

i werk at best buy to, im impressed with some of their stuff, pioneer heads, and the vega 4x6's


SOme installers ARE VERY VERY GOOD. i just got my hands on one of em. ehehehhehe.. whose gonna install my alarm, he customs all of it, and customs parts for the car, as in fiberglass, and yes, this is at a best buy, (only one in IL tho... : ( )
but yes i agree. best buy IS good for entry stuff. but im happy to get the 9200 pioneer for its price.
