How do you sink an amp into a seat backon a third gen?

I've never done it.
My understanding is that you remove the seatcover. Cut a hole in the back of the seat (I think it is plastic). Rip out some padding. Build a tray to fit into the hole. Attach the tray to the seat back. Then modify and reinstall the seat cover.
It doesn't seem like it would be an extremely difficult project. ... just a little scary to start ripping apart a perfectly good seat.

that is just a terible idea! it will not look good, and will only work with a "small" amp, that would be better hidden than shown. if its that small, put it under one of the front seats. the hatch is a terrible place to install amps because the sun will heat the amp to a critical level when you are parked, so when you get in its already cookin. you know what they say, "heat kills electronics" i have two 225HCCA's in my hatch, but they are in an amp rack, and i throw a piece of carpet over it all, that keeps the sun off, and the crooks from knowing whats in my ride.
