Test speaker wires

Hi All

How can I test my speaker wires to see if there is a fault or short ?

Geoff,

You could pick up a cheap multi-tester at an auto parts or other store. If the wire is out of the car or the ends are near each other, use the ohm meter or continuity function. If the ends are not within reach of the meter's test leads, use a jumper to connect a battery at one end and measure voltage at the other. Wire is cheap, if it is suspect it should be replaced unless especially difficult to re-install.

IF U HAVE A MULTI METER USE THE OHMS FUNTION. WITH BOTH WIRES DISCONNECTER AT THE RADIO END YOU SHOULD READ BETWEEN 4 AND 16 OHMS WIRE TO WIRE AND SHOULD READ INFINITY FROME EACH WIRE TO GROUND. GOOD LUCK
