Do I need a distribution block?
Yep use a Distribution Block it will save you alot of time and headaches later.
They run from $15-over $75. Gold or Platinum, Fused or no Fuses. Gold is cheaper than the Platinum ones. You only need the Fused ones if you don't have fuses on your amps or you just like that extra peace of mind. I paid like $25.00 for mine.

I paid like $25.00 for mine. you don't need a distribution block. just run the power wire from your battery to the first amp then use a separate power wire to connect the amps together by plugging them into each others 12v power. so it'll be a little series from the battery to your first amp then from your first amp to your second. it works well. unless you'll be mounting your amps where everyone can see them. then i'd say use the distribution blocks they look more professional
dont listen to that guy, if u want to run two amps do it the right way, get 4guage power wire to go to the distribution block, then get to chunks of 8gauge power wire to run from the distribution block to each amp, if u go to an audio store thats how they will tell u to do it, also DJ Sexay would prolly say the same cause he knows wut he is doin
You mean like this?

Yes you would want to run a distrobution block. Besides the fact that they are inexpensive, you would pay more for enough wire to run a second run from the battery back...
If you want the easy way out, go buy a multi amp kit from someone like Metra, PIE or Monster that includes enough wire for a 4awg run from the battery back, a fuse for under the hood (DO NOT SKIP THAT PART), grommets, terminals for the battery usually, a distrobution block for the power and sometimes a distrobution block for the ground depending on the kit. Generally they will come with enough primary wire for a remote turn on lead and your ground cable and terminations as well. And assuming that you have a normal side mount battery you will want extension posts for your battery connections as well.
In total it should cost you somewhere around $60 for all of the parts you need give or take $10 either way depending on the kit and retailer.
Save yourself time and hassle in the long run and do it the right way from the start.
