Really stupid Fuse Question???
Really stupid Fuse Question???
O.K. don't laugh! I haven't had a stereo in my car for 9yrs and I have just installed a new Din and a 1/2 Alpine CDA853 CD player.
Here is the stupid question. What kind of fuse goes in the fuse block for the stereo on an 89 GTA? It is not a normal fuse and I don't remember removing it, However it is gone nun the less! What AMP is it, and where can I get one? Kragen? What is this fuse type called?

It does, but it has an arrow pointing down to the right at the grey shaded area just below the radio lettering? This is why I thought maybe their is another fuse that is missing? Is there another inline fuse or another possible area that could have shorted out the constant power wire? My 10 AMP fuse is still good! I am not getting power here at all! When my original stereo was stolen could it have shorted somthing out besides the fuse? Thanks again for your help! Eric C.
Ok first try to get a test probe, from there find a good ground and with the key in the off position test the orange cable. The test light should light up, now turn the turn the key back in the acc. position and test the yellow wire that should light up also. Make sure your radio works. That hole you were talking about has nothing to do with a missing fuse, we at the 2 way radio business use that hole to connect our wires to it. If you have no power there try tracing the orange (battery) yellow (ignition/acc) and also important black (ground) Try this link for our wiring camaro

If your fuse box looks like that, I was only wrong with the amperage. it's a 10 amp instead of a 15 amp.
