The BOSE radio needs to use the BOSE AMP/Speakers to work properly.
You can't just install an aftermarket radio and then connect it to the factory BOSE Speakers/AMPs/Wiring.
You can use an aftermarket head unit connected to the BOSE Speakers/AMPs/Wiring,.... but in order to do so you will need to install a "signal converter".
BOSE speakers are 2 OHM speakers, and most aftermarket speakers are 4OHM.

Following as I am about to do all of this. I am removing the Bose setup from my 88 and will just wire in new speakers using an aftermarket head unit.
