Crossover/EQ Questions

I have Infinity Kappa 4x6 plates in my dash and Infinity Kappa 6x9's in my back panels. They are being powered by a 150w rms MTX Blue Thunder PRO752 with the gain about half. The quality of the highs is amazing, but sometimes the highs are too high and get annoying. I figure I need either a crossover and/or equalizer. I don't know about these, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Are there any brands/features/specs I should look for or stay away from. I have all the Infinity's running off the 2 channel MTX, is this bad?

If you feel your highs are too high, you need an EQ. A crossover just decides what frequencies to send to what speakers. Look on your deck to see where the treble is set at. You may be able to turn it down enough so you dont need an EQ. If you really want one, there are several different styles to get. In dash, hideaway, or a combo of both. The indash is easiest to adjust on the fly, but needs room by the deck to mount it. A hideaway prolly has the best features and quality, but once it's set, you cant easily adjust it for different songs while your driving.

I feel this is the best EQ you can get.
I would not run anything (external) other then audio control.
Right now I am running the Clarion DPH910
Just my opinion.....

Also, unless your speakers are poor quality, they most likely have a built in crossover... Component sets have separate crossovers but plates and 6x9's usually have built in ones.. I agree with them, either use your deck to turn the treble down or get an eq..

Some amps have a freq bandpass settings....you can use this to block out unwanted highs or lows. I use these settings to block out the lows to my dash speakers
