That's for the factory 4" subs in the rear sail panels. (IF you have them) Someone (like me) could've just added the switch. I've hooked mine up to my subwoofer AND the gain control works. With some more free time I'm going to write up a quick tech article SOMEday about it.
PS - From what I've read a TA didn't come w/ that stock, only GTAs, I could be mistaken though

Well mine must have came with becuase it has all the wires for it. None are spliced or anything, it looks like a factory switch plus I don't think anyone messed with it cuase it's still the factory radio. The switch lights up when I turn on radio but don't do anything. I only have factory 6by 9's so should thers be some extra wires in there for some subs. Thanks.

Kinda dumb question, but have you changed your 6x9s OR PHYSICALLY checked that you actually have them behind the panels in the back seat area? That's where the factory sub enclosures go also.
the system included:
- the switch and wiring you have
- a 'premium' radio
- enclosures for the 4" subs and a pair of 4x6s in place of the 6x9s
- an amp to take the rear signal from the radio and output to the subs
If you have the 4x6/4" enclosures then you DO truely have the system from the factory (at least in MY book you do
If you have 6x9s back there i'd suspect some 'ghetto'-rigging

I went and checked and it looks like someone put 6 by 9's back there. They don't look like they fit good though someone broke some of the plastic around to fit them in. Any way where would this amp be located the wires go uder the dash somewhere. Also so I would have 6 speakers instead of fou? thanks

Sorry I forget the amp location ... places I >> THINK << its in are either right behind the radio or in the passenger's kick panel AREA, i know the ECM is there also.
Technically if you had the factory sub system.... you should have had 6 speakers: 4 4x6s and 2 4"s ... one pair of 4x6s would go up from like normal, and the other 4x6s would be paired w/ the 4"s in the 6x9 area.
As far as what powers what in that setup:
- the factory radio powers the 4 4x6s just like normal, 2 in back, 2 in front ...
- the amp uses the rear signal (splits it i BELIEVE) and amplifies it, sending the new signal (minus the treble) to the 4"s
PS - 100 posts!! Whoo Hoo!
