It's coming from the battery or something. Ever since I hooked this amp up whenever I turn on my lights, rev the engine, or even turn on the windshield wipers I hear everything in my speakers. It's really starting to get annoying, anybody know how I can fix this?

 

make sure your ground is secure and make sure it is grounded to bare metal...scrape away paint if you have to. make sure there is no corrosion or anything were it is grounded. btw how long is your ground wire?

 

Since it happened with the addition of this new amp, I'm sure it's either a ground loop or a bad filter in the amp. Probably a ground loop. Do like Bubbz said and make sure your ground is secure, clean, and of adequate wire size.

Ok,,,I've got 0 guage running to the amp for power, and I have 4 gauge running to a ground, which is about 8 inches long....I might have to do the scrape away the paint thing. Any other ideas if that doesn't work?

 

well i am not the brightest crayon in the box, but you should have the same guage for power and ground, and jesus christ how big is that amp? 0 guage is pretty big wire. i only have a 200w amp and i have 8 guage for mine. try scraping the paint away and see what happens.

 

bubbz89 is right use the same size ground wire as power wire. Also make your ground as short as possible. If this does not help you may have to reroute your wires. The power wire should go down the drivers side of the car. the RCA down the center, and the remote down the right side. How do you run the RCA down the center? It is difficult. If you do not want to do the work run it with your remote wire.

You may also want to try a ground loop isolator on the RCA wires at the deck. this problem is created when you start to have too many grounding points in the system.that should cure the problem. BTW... you don't have to have the same size ground wire at the amp, I'm running 4 gauge wire for the power and the ground underhood and a 12 gauge ground at the amps... have fun!!
