Right channel cutting out???

I have a 91 RS 305 TBI with all stock stereo equipment. I bought a pair of Pioneer 6 by 9's and a pair of Polk 4 by 6's just after Christmas. I put them in myself, and everything worked great until about a week ago the right channel is very, very scratchy and frequently cuts out. Both speakers on the right side behave identically (i.e. cutting out at the same time) and don't seem to be damaged in any way. I have no clue what could be wrong, and not sure where to start looking. Any help would be helpfull!

switch the speaker leads at the deck... if the left speakers are now cutting out, you have a deck problem, fix or replace deck,
if the right peakers are still going out, you have a wiring issue, look for shorts in the wires, but since it affects both right speakers, I would look at the deck as the source of your problem..
