10" subs....or 12" subs???????

I am going to buy a system next week. I am deciding on either 10" or 12" subs. I cannot make a decision. Which will sound better? I heard that 10's sound better in F-body's. I am buying Infinity Reference subs...the tens put out 1000 watts each and the twelves put out 1200 watts each. Which should I go with. I am getting them for a cheap price. I just dont know which size to get. Please help me out. Thanks.

I personally like the sound of 12's. With the right amount of power, and the proper enclosure, they ought to sound really nice. They will give you good SQ and SPL.
Sound chalk me up for 12's.

With 10's the bass will be tighter.....with 12's the bass will be deeper.

All that power capability relies on a good amp. Look at it this way, 2 12's could be driven by ONE good amp. Three 10's will need at least 2 amps. Just my .02

It all depends on what you want.
Best thing to do is to listen to other peoples setups in thier F-body's and decide.
Also, Speaker decisions depend on the amp that will be running them.
Get a name brand hi power amp, like Rockford Fosgate. I have a Fosgate 500a2 amp bridged to mono pushing a JL 12w6 wired to 6ohms and it sounds awesome.
My brother has in his 96 Camaro a Fosgate 1000a1 pushing my old Premier TS-1040 10's in a sealed JL triple 10 fbody box (box is made for 3 10's, each 10 is sealed by itself so you can run 1,2, or 3 subs, depending on what ohms the subs are).

It all boils down to money, how much you have, and how much you want to spend.

In general, 10's are tighter bass, but 12's can go lower. 12's are usually your best bet because they are still tight and have good bass. whatever you do, don't get 15's. I'm sure i'm gonna get flamed for that comment. but go with 12's
