I bought my fiberglass resin at Wal Mart, and used yellow rags from Parts America for my kicks.

I just finished my carpeted pair that turned out pretty good. I'm also doing a vinyl pair that will go in for comps. I live in Montana and car interiors get abused during the winter. That's why I want two sets. I'll post pics of each step soon. My email is miked@selway.umt.edu if you want to chat about all of the details. Thanks to DJSexy for telling me to not give up on building these. They look nicer than the ones I had professionally done for another car. Carpet looks a little cheesy but the vinyl will look sweet. Door pods are next. Any ideas for this?

DJ, believe it or not, those kicks I built were my first-ever experiment with fiberglass. I'm the body filler pro, but I'd never used fiberglass and resin before.

I have Q-Form kick pods in my car now and I'm thinking of trying to seal and stengthen them up. I'm wanting more midbass in the front and I think the Component Set I have could do the job if they were in a better enclosure. What's your thought about doing this? See the link below in my sig for a list of the Audio Components in my car.

Trans Am:
(Engine)305 TPI
180 Degree Thermostat
JET Fan Switch
TB Bypass
Accel 300+ 8.8 Racing Wires
Accel Super Coil
Bosch Platinium Plugs
Custom Ram Air with K&N
Removed Emissions Equipment & Cat.
(Stereo)Full Kenwood Excelon System

Sorry guys, I searched my entire collection of car stereo pics last night, and the only pics I have of my 3rd gen are some wiring pics. I got a ton of pics of my old Grand Am, ugh! Scary when I look at my fisrt couple systems!
As far as sealing q-forms, I'm never worked with q-forms directly, but from what I hear, they are pretty flimsy. More important that sealing them, would be reinforcing them with fiberglass on the inside. Sand it good, because fiberglass does not like to stick to plastic very well. Ideally, you want to be able to play your speakers, put your finger on the kickpanel, and feel a minimum of vibration. Any vibration you feel on the surface of the kickpanel means that it is resonating to the music, which will hurt your imaging and stageing. Also, some dynamat on the metal of the car behind the kickpanel should help too.
