engine block ground?
engine block ground?
Does anyone know where the ground strap that grounds the engine block to the chassis is located on a 91 RS 3.1? Where does it bolt to the block? Where does it bolt to the chassis?

Maybe ask the guys in Motor Swap. They would know. As far as I know, the engine uses the motor mounts as a ground. I looked for a ground strap in the 3.1L in my Haynes repair manual, but don't see anything about it.
I recently upgraded the power wire from my alternator to my battery and the ground wire from my battery to the chassis. Wow ... what a difference! My battery is charging better, voltage is higher, system is better. Now I just need to upgrade the engine ground strap and the job will be done. Any help would be appreciated.

The engine can't use motor mounts as a ground. The motor mounts are designed to totally isolate the motor from the chassis through rubber. The V8 cars run a strap from the fire wall to the passenger side head, and I'd assume your car does the same.

On my car the engine ground is on the passanger side near the distrutor and it grounds to the firewall... What kind of wire did you use for the alt to the distrubtion block??? i want to do this also i was thinking 8 or 4 guage wire possibly 0 guage. but im afraid the connectrs might not fit into the distrubtion block.
