A square tube box?...
A square tube box?...
well I have another posr asking about good sub boxes...and well I just though of this...
I have 2 12 Rockfordfosgate RFZ1812's and was thinking about building a square tube box to sit in the well... Have them facing each other and have ported behind the subs... well heres some idea of size...
Roughly 38 inches long 12 inch square ends. So 38 by 12 by 12. Anyway have between 4-5 inches of the top's center removed. To act like a "mega" port and have a small 2-3 inch port behind the magnets...I was thinking of having the subs mounted around 4-5 inches inside the box so there would be 28 inches of free space between them.
Would this work? has it been tried and failed?...some opinions please...

Box shape makes no difference. As long as the volume is correct, and the port size/length is correct, you'll be fine. Just make sure that the volume and port size are right though. With a ported box, you need to be pretty accurate with these or it will sound bad and cause damage to your speakers.
