amps installed into back of rear seat

I'm working on installing my amps into my back seat. Need to figure out a way to cool them. I have lots of fans of all different sizes but I think the only way to do it is to build the fans onto the hump. This is a PITA.

My amp is in my back seat and it doesn't cool worth a damn. I've got a few fans I'm going to install today, probably just using velcro to stick them to the hump. I was thinking of trying something different, though. I'm not sure exactly how much space there is between the gas tank and the carpet, but if it works, I'd like to cut into the carpet and slide the mini fans I have in there and vent the air through a hole in the carpet at the top of the hump. I always have to make things more complicated.

Hey...

Are you mounthing them completely in the seat? or are the tops showing out through the top like mine?

Because if thats the case, i just keep the seat folded down most of the time when i drive... And i have three amps in that seat...

I made a trip ti LI from Syracuse, (six hours to the point), and heat didnt become an issue running the stereo full tilt until i got close to the destination, and i was in traffic. id LOVE to see how that comes out, let me know!

Well I don't have the time to finish it right now. I've been really busy programing eproms for my car and running diacom. She's drinking too much gas and that is my first priority. As for pictures, I would like to see some completed setups. My amps are going to stick up a bit and that is why I'm going to install fans on the hump to exhaust the hot air. I still have to work on the sub box in the spare tire well. That's going to be a PITA too.

I'm going to be starting this type of project soon as well... I just have to figure out what kind of box I'm going to build and the subs that are going into it... Its also a plus that I have a spare back seat that is in good condition

the pics suck, but if you go through a couple of pagese, youll see a pic of the seat with the Coustic 7 channel crossover, and the three alpine amps in the seat. I used washers screwing them in so that they mounted perfectly flush. Fitting the wiring all around the four units was the only major PITA, that and getting all the wiring down the hinges. WELL WORTH it, whenyou get it done.
