Amp in Tri-way output mode, How can I get bass to the woofer?
Hey all. Im running one of thoes kenwood "600 watt" amps in tri-way mode.
It's running a set of kenwood excelon 6x9's, and a 12" kenwood woofer in a ported box.
Anyhow, the amp is set for full-range sound. The woofer sounds pretty bad running while it trys to hit the highs, but if i use a crossover, it goes to the RCA before it hits the amp. What should i do to setup the woofer to get only bass? Run a bass coil?
Thanks for any suggestions!

is that amp 4 channel or 2 channl?
if the amp is only two channel you can only run either the speakers or the sub of it.
if it is 4 channel then each channel should have their own crossover... set the channel with the sub to 'Low Pass Filter' and the channel with the 6x9s to 'high pass filter'
if you are running a two channel amp with two 6x9's and one sub it will not work nor sound proper.

I'm not sure if you are using it, but you really should be using a head unit or EQ with separate RCA lines for both your 6x9's and your sub. This way the proper freqs go to the right speakers regardless of what your bandpass filter settings are at.
