Amp/box placement?

Hey all, I know this is a thirdgen site, but I don't think I'm going to be able to find any high performance/car audio sites on the net regarding 94' big *** passenger vans. Everyone here knows quite a bit, and were responsible for the components I put into my 89 IROC.

If it's not too much to ask, here's my dilemma. I want to put the box under the second row of seats in the van, and have the amp mounted on the driver side wall near. The only problem is that there is a heating unit inline with that row of seats. How far away should the amp be from this heating unit to not cause any problems? Will it cause distortion in the sound or just heat up the amp?

Thanks
Steve

amp make a lot of heat, putting it next to a heating unit will just make it worse, it wont cause distortion (i dont think) just when the amp overheats it will shut off, and ull have to wait for it to cool down. what size subs are you putting under the seats
