speaker wire (what guage)

what guage should i use to wire my 6x9's and my 4x6's to the amp?? is 12 big enuf

Transmission: T56 Magnum (Pending) / T5
Axle/Gears: 3.42 / ?
for those speakers, 12 is overkill. 16 would be sufficient. Hell even 18 would do the job. I'm only using 16 gauge for my subs in one of my boxes.

16, would 14 give better performence, the guy at circuit city said the best way to connect the wire to the speaker is solder, is this true

I use 12 for subs, 16 for all else. As long as it is correcly soldered, that is the best way, not that it would make a noticable difference though.
