85 Camaro Dash Removal

I bought my Camaro in 1985. In 1988 I tried to remove the dash cover to replace the stock speakers. I did not remove the dash because it would not budge. What is the secret. I do not want to break it and at this point I would almost just give up trying. I want to replace the radio, again, and hopefully all the speakers this time around. Thanks.

To remove the Dash Pad there are if I remember right 4 screws inside the defroster duct area and then ones along the upper front across the length of the dash(like above the Gauges and etc)

Yeah, get the screws on the defroster area, and the screws under the front part of it. If they all are free, with a good but not hard yank it should come out. I pryed mine out and put a crack right above the steering wheel, i did it the stupid way, i never asked how to take it out, i assumed. Don't make any decisions if u aren't sure what ur doing.

With all the screws removed, mine comes out REAL EASY.
No yanking required.

Thanks for all your tips. I will try again in a day or two. I think I will also try the two screws under the vents just above the radio/ heat controls. I can not remember if I took them out before. Again, thanks. I will let you all know how it goes, and if more help is needed.

Thanks, for the tips. I will try again in a day or so. There are the screws that are in the heat vents just above the radio/heater controls that I might not have tried to remove before. If there is a screw, it will be removed. I will hopefully get this done very easily. Thanks again. I will let you know if more help is required. I will let you know if I am successful too.
