Ok, Imaging/Speakers Selection, not too complicated...

ok guys, as from the last few posts that you guys have been keeping up with.
i was listening to cds lately and thinking....
i cant do kick panels, i need that spot for foot and i want to swap to manual.

so then that leaves me with:
1. Getting fourth gen, and putting two way component in door
2. Get fourth gen, three way set, 6.5 and tweet in door. four in 4x6 location
3. Get fourth gen, three way and mod it for three piece.
4. get two way component set, 4" and tweet and make plate and put in 4x6 location..

it will be amped...

i think i will be running quart's.

Thanx!

Do shallow kicks. Q-forms stick out a mile, but the ones I built only stick out a couple inches, and I don't think DJSexay's even stick out that much. There are some shallow drivers available, so if you made (or had them made) some custom kicks, I'm sure you could do it with minimal impact on your interior space.

Am I understanding corredctly that you would get a fourth gen for stereo upgrades? I mean that's cool, but how about the added performance? Anyway, I don't think there is a 4"X6" location in a fourth gen. Just the door panels. As for kicks, I ordered DJ Sexay's because of their shallow depth. I had the same concerns with a stick shift. But as you can see in the pic, they easily clear the clutch pedal, and even some on the dead pedal (although, I don't know how usable that is). And can accomidate up to a 2 3/4" depth I believe which is enough for 90% of the 6 1/2" components out there. I'll post when I get mine- can't wait!

Whoops! Just read some previous posts- I guess your planning to swap in the door panels only. Sounds like kind of a headache to me, but it would probably be really cool when it's done. Kick panel location would give you better imaging ,though, because it is a more even path for the sound to get to your ears.

That's my car pictured above, and actually those aren't even a shallow speaker. The mounting depth of those I believe is 2.75".

Well, with tweed, the kicks are ready to cover right out of the mold, since the weave of the tweed hides any little ripples. I'd be interested in doing it, but it will take alittle more time and materials. if you are interested, email me, and we can discuss pricing.

definatly 6.5

oh, what Component sets do you guys like,

I like CDT audio (that's what I have installed). Great sound/quality, and reasonably priced. Check them out ( www.cdtaudio.com ). Also I've heard good things about DEI's components, especially for the price.

ok, tell me what you think....

PSC216 Front kick pod
PSC216 Rear Sail
Both run off JL audio 300/4
(first question, should i buy two JL's and bi-Amp)
And then Get 500/1 Jl audio for two Eclipse Alum's DVC 4Ohms.
and then later add another 500/1

K, lets say that the PSC216 Are both 310$
and that the 300/4 is 360, and same with the 500/1

and im getting DJ Kicks.
