infinity perfect sealed or ported

I just purchased a couple 12 inch perfects and I am getting ready to build the box. Do you reccomend sealed or ported for these subs?

thanks,
Matt

what kind of bass are you looking for? tight? good quality? if your looking for that go with sealed for sure, I personally don't like ported AT ALL. they suck in my opinion. I have an infinity reference in my car for temp. sub and it sounds really good in my sealed box.

what you have to realize about ported enclosures is that you cannot just buy a premade one and expect it to sound good. ported enclosures can sound great, but require a lot more work and must be more precise than a sealed enclosure. with a perfect, i say stick with a sealed enclosure. they are great sq subs

I know that I cannot just purchase a good premade ported box, my post specifies that I will be making it. I was told by someone else that if the box is built properly to spec that it will sound better than a sealed enclosure. Any other opinions?

have two infinity perfect 10" sub myself

if you go with a seal box you will get better sound out of them

with a ported box it is tuned to a very small freq range that it will bump up in amplitude while the rest of the freq tend to get lowerd a bit

so they give you more thump
but not quality
