Help with Alarm Install
Help with Alarm Install
Hey guys, I just got a Gargoyle CS2003DC alarm with some extra options.
Basically my first question is: I have both a shock sensor and radar sensor, the shock came with alarm, radar bought seperate. Is it worth it to splice all the wires and run both or will radar suffice? I'd rather have both, so how would I wire them?
Second, I have a DEI backup battery, 12volt, and I am going to shaved door handles. Would it be possible to run the actuators that would open the doors to that backup battery incase my battery dies allow me to unlock the door? Also, how would I do that?
Thanks a ton!

I can't say that I know of your alarm, but I can tell you how most alarms work...
Each sensor should have it's own input into the brain. If your brain only has one input for either shock or motion, then that's all you can use. Do NOT splice the two together into one input.
As for the backup battery, no you will not be able to run your doors off of it. Just about that simple.
If you are worried about your battery, you can install a smaller motorcycle type battery with an isolater so that it will always have a charge ready if you need it.

i just had my alarm fixed and this time i added a radar sensor also. they spliced it somewhere. the radar and shock were both duel zone, but the manufacture said that i couldn't use the duel zone for the radar, it would only work with a single zone, other wise it would falt the system. but the installers hooked it up so i have a duel zone shock sensor, and a single (inside only) radar sensor. but i know it was spliced in somewhere, and it works.
