combo questions

Ok - ppl are probably wondering why im posting so many topics - well i just want my car to sound nice!!!

Ok - i got kicker 6x9's and 4x6's!!!
Now im gonna place an order with djsexay or jim (if he makes them) for kick panels!!!

But my questions are:

1. Are the speakers in the kicks supposed to be woofers and tweeters only - cause the component kickers are listed that way at crutchfield???

2. Can a 4 channel amp be used to power the 4x6 and 6x9 and the speakers in the kick panels (more then 2 sets - by adding splitters or something to the amp)??? Or would i have to let any one set be powered from the deck??? The tweeters are powered by the deck always right??? I want everything to be powered by an amp!!!

Could ppl - post their setups here plz - how many amps - and what amp are for subs and which ones for speakers!!!

Any help would be greatfull!!! And if there is anything u wanna know specifically about what i want, then ask me!!!
Thanks

don't do 4x6 and kickpanels, one or the other. With speakers in the dash, you will loose the benefit of better imaging and staging that kickpanels give you.

Ok i get what u are saying!!!
So is there any way i could add a pair of tweeter somewhere??? Or is it not needed???

I got 2 way for both front and rear!!! They are being powered by some old sony deck that was in it when i bought the car - could that be the reason why im not hearing the highs i want!!!

Thanks

And if someone sould plz answer if a 4 channel can power more then 4 speakers - a 2 channel more then 2 - by adding splitters or something thanks!!! Cause i wanna know if Kicker dx350 can be used to power both my future subs!!!

Thanks again

the tweeter from a component set will blow away any 4x6 coaxials tweeter in output and quality.

As for the amps, most amps can handle a 2 ohm load in stereo, or bridge to a 4ohm load.

What this means, is that most component / coaxial speakers are 4ohms each, hence, 4 ohm per channel. When you run speakers in parrallel (hooking 2 + and 2 - leads to the amps + and - speaker outputs), the total load cuts in half, in this case, 2. So most amps can handle 2 sets of speakers in stereo, but remember, you power is now being shared between the 2 sets.

For subs, you bridge the amp to a single 4 ohm mono load, and you can buy subs in different ohm ratings to get the final config you are looking for. For example, for 2 subs, you want 8ohm subs, then parallel them for a 4 ohm final load.
