I know this is a dumb question.....

Look guys, I know nothing about wiring things or installing any car audio stuff so cut me some slack here. Anyways, my friend said he was going to give me a cd player for my car. One of those jvc kameleons or something like that. And he said, all it needs is the wiring that comes out the back or the unit. Where would I get the wiring for this? Is it expensive? Sorry for the dumb question....

There should already be wiring coming out of it, unless there's a plug for a wiring harness that it simply plugs into. If this is the case then I would go to JVC's website and search for the wiring harness for that particular model. You should find it, or even call some of the local audio shops and ask them if they've got anything in stock. While you're at it, you might as well get an adapter harness that will plug right in, between your stock radio wiring harness and the JVC harness you're looking for. The benefit of this is that you don't have to cut the existing stock radio wiring harness off and makes it a cleaner installation.
