Controlling subs power? Screws in gas tank?
I was just wondering what I have to buy in order to control the volume or wattage (what amp) that goes to my subs? I have to put the bass at -6 on the deck and even then, the bass comes in to much on certain songs. Do those jensen amps with the top mounted controls allow you to turn it down, lower the power etc etc?
Also, the two tubes in the hatch area behind the rear seat have two brackets into the gas tanks. I have no idea how long those screws my be, should I be worried about it? Is there anything I can do?
One last thing, I know this is a retarded question but here goes; What the hell do crossovers do and (if you have time) how do they work?
Thanks,

Your amp has a gain control. Adjust that to set your sub level.
Remove those screws immediately. The gas tank is only 1/2" to 3/4" beneath that interior floor. Even though it's a huge pain in the *** , I strongly, strongly suggest that you drop the gas tank and inspect it. If it's punctured at all, replace it. You probably won't be able to tell if it's punctured without dropping it, and it's way too important to take a chance.
Crossovers filter certain frequencies from the signal before passing it on. For example, a low-pass crossover will do as described. It will allow the low frequencies to pass, but will filter all other frequencies. Most of them are adjustable so you can pick the frequency.
