Decent Setup?

Hi guys. Im looking around to get a good sounding system to put in my 87 Camaro. Im not looking for competition sounds or nothing, just something with some sort of loudness as I like heavy metal really loud LMAO.

Anyways, how would:

Sony Xplod 52x4 CD reciever
Sony Xplod 4x6 speakers
Sony Xplod 6x9 3-way speakers

sound? Later on, I might get 2-Sony Xplod 10in. subs to just add that extra heaviness. How would this sound over stock? I need a need reciever as my stock ones tape player is broke and so are the 6x9s...The buzz really bad when you turn up the bass.

I listen to rap about 2 times a year, so im not looking to "bump." LOL. Would this system be ok?

Total price for recieve, 4x6s, and 6x9s would be around $400 plus tax. Good idea? Im almost definately sold on the Xplod head unit, but what other speakers would be better than the Sonys?

For about $30 more than a base Sony, get a base Alpine...I've seen people be dissapointed with Sony, but never with an Alpine. Baseline Alpine's are running about $169 right now.

Is there a better Alpine for $200 or possibly $250?

The new sony decks tend to break... a lot.

The new sony x-plod speakers are among the worst sounding I've ever heard. Whenever somebody was interrested in speakers, I'd always start with those, then right as they were getting used to them, I'd switch to the Boston cx series. I sold a lot of bostons that way.

According to Jimbo, the guy who wrote the audio tutorial on this web site, Kickers are among the best bargain. He compliments them very well.

Im almost sold on the Alpine head unit. It's the Alpine CDM-7871 that has the MSRP of $300.

Which speakers would be the best then if Kickers suck so bad. I don't need any $1000 sets or sh*t like that. Just some good sounding, quality speakers.

If you can hang tight, they are going to start blowing out the 2001 models to get ready for the 2002 models. You might find some bargains. The Sony ES line has a 3 year warranty that is quite good in fact if you can drop the money.

Eclipse has a three year warranty as well.
